ESC to focus on hardware skills at CeBIT

Our Bureau

NEW DELHI, Oct. 8

THE Electronics and Computer Software Exports Promotion Council (ESC) will stress on India's skill in hardware at the forthcoming CeBIT 2003, the largest IT exposition to be held in Hanover, Germany.

In a statement here today, ESC said that, like in the previous years, it will set up an India Pavilion at CeBIT 2003 but, this time round, more attention would be given to the country's hardware exports.

Traditionally, ESC's stress at CeBIT shows has been to promote software exports from India.

"We have decided to bundle both software and hardware exports since they complement and supplement each other. Also, there is a rapid convergence of products, systems and media in the ICT industry," said Mr D.K. Sareen, Executive Director, ESC.
