NLC exceeds April generation target

NEW DELHI, June 5
NEYVELI Lignite Corporaton Ltd (NLC) has said it exceeded its power generation targets in April by producing 1,361.07 MU against the target set of 1,288 MU.
April power generation is higher than the total power generated in the corresponding period last year, NLC said in a statement.
Power export in April was 1,171.49 MU against a target of 1,098 MU, while lignite production in the month was 13.99 lakh tonnes, which was about one lakh tonne less than the target set for the month.
Coal production during April was 24.97 m.t. against last April's production of 23.48 m.t. The off-take during the current month was 26.41 m.t. whereas the off-take during April 2001 was 25.66 m.t.
The total outstanding dues of CIL from all sectors of consumers as on April 17 were Rs 6,791.87 crore.
The dues of NLC on account of sale of power outstanding from the State electricity boards as on April 30 was Rs 2,963.16 crore.
