Rubber up on fresh buying

Our Correspondent

KOTTAYAM, May 10

RUBBER prices moved up further following fresh buying orders from manufacturers and traders as they attempted to mop up available supply.

As usual arrivals were reported to be very weak. Covering purchases were instrumental for immediate firming up of prices for all grades. The Rubber Marketing Federation was active in the field to fill up the shortage of their stock mainly intended for export.

In the absence of sellers, price trends showed an upswing.

Meanwhile, sheet rubber RSS-4 improved further to Rs 35.75 from Rs 35 on Thursday and RSS-5 to Rs 33.50 from Rs 32.50.Ungraded rubber moved up to Rs 31.50 from Rs 30.75. Similarly block rubber ISNR-20 rose to Rs 32 from Rs 31.75.Latex concentrate was the sole exception to rule flat at Rs 29 per kg.
