Administrators for Kerala district co-op banks

Our Bureau

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Government has brought 12 district co-operative banks under administrative control invoking the relevant provisions of an ordinance which invalidated the respective director boards.

The Pathanamthitta and Idukki district banks had already been brought under administrator's rule.

The ordinance, signed into effect by the State Governor on May 4, saw administrators taking over at Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Thrissur, Kozhikode and Kasaragod the same day. The other seven banks were taken over on Monday.
