Alliances & Joint Ventures Crisil ties up with Getit Our Bureau
Mr R. Ravimohan, Managing Director, Crisil, and Mr Ramesh Gupta, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, Getit Infomediary Ltd, at a press conference in Chennai on Wednesday.
CHENNAI, March 6 GETIT Infomediary Ltd, which publishes the Yellow Pages, has tied up with Crisil, the credit rating agency, to offer certification and verification service for businesses and the service industry. Called TrustMe, the certification service will use certain criteria to certify businesses on their capabilities to provide services in specific categories. The verification service will authenticate the physical existence and location of the business entity. Mr Ramesh Gupta, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, Getit, told a press conference here today that the TrustMe service would be available to all those who advertised with Getit, both the printed yellow pages and the Internet products. The services will be available for a fee ranging from Rs 15,000 to Rs one lakh per year. A press release issued by Getit said that the certification process was not product quality certification or rating or ranking. Advertisers and businesses would not be ranked through this process, but only certified against pre-defined benchmarks for their industry segment. The businesses would have to renew their certification every year. Asked about the revenue-sharing agreement between Getit and Crisil, both Mr Gupta and Mr Ravimohan declined to give details apart from stating that it was a "fair formula". Mr Ravimohan said that Crisil had created software that would help in certifying the businesses that requested the service. Crisil would undertake the certification services through its division, CredibilityFirst.
