Sinha to address CII meet on March 4

NEW DELHI, Feb. 25

THE Finance Minister, Mr Yashwant Sinha, is to address members of the National Councils of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on the proposals of the Union Budget 2002-03 in the capital on March 4.

In a statement the chamber has said the meeting of the Finance Minister will be followed by an interactive session with the Member Planning Commission, Mr N.K. Singh.

The statement adds that the National Council of CII will also discuss in depth the new export policy of the Government and the implications that it would have on the industry and the export sector.

Besides, an agenda for facilitating the corporatisation of the sector will also be prepared by the Council.

Among the Council members who are schedule to attend include the Chairman and Managing Director, Bajaj Auto Limited, Mr Rahul Bajaj, the Managing Director of Maruti Udyog Ltd, Mr Jagdish Khattar, the Chairman and Managing Director of Kirloskar Electric Company Ltd, Mr Vijay R. Kirloskar, the Chief Executive and Managing Director of Lucas-TVS Ltd, Mr T.K. Balaji, the Executive Vice-President of Tata Consultancy Services, Mr Phiroz Vandrevala, and the Chairman of Asea Brown Boveri Ltd, Mr K.N. Shenoy.
