NEW DELHI, Feb. 19 THE Chairman of the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), Mr G.N. Bajpai, is the new Chairman of the capital markets regulator - the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). Mr Bajpai's selection was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) here on Tuesday. He will have a three-year term as SEBI Chairman, consistent with the SEBI (Terms and Conditions of Service of Chairman and Members) Rules, 1992.
