The Hindu Business Line : NTPC in Platts top 250 for 2009

NTPC Ltd has been named a Platts Top 250 Global Energy Company for the year 2009. The power generation corporation was awarded No.1 Independent Power Producer (IPP) in Asia and No. 10 in overall performance among the energy companies in Asia, by Platts, a division of McGraw-Hill Companies. NTPC has also been ranked No.2 Independent Power Producer globally and No. 73 on overall global performance among energy companies. This award was received at Platts Top 250 Global Company Rankings Award ceremony held at Singapore earlier this month, according to a corporation statement. These rankings are based on four key metricsasset worth, revenues, profits and return on investment.
