Credit Market States - Tamil Nadu Nabard sanctions Rs 288 cr Chennai, Nov. 26 National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has sanctioned loans worth Rs 288 crore under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF). The loans have been provided for rehabilitation of seven irrigation projects in six districts of Tamil Nadu. The six districts are Dharmapuri, Erode, Kanyakumari, Ramnathapuram, Salem and Theni. On completion, the seven irrigation projects would benefit approximately 27,640 hectares of agricultural land. The loan would also include providing additional infrastructural facilities in 303 high school and higher secondary schools in 17 districts of the State and thereby benefiting 18,200 students in rural areas. To improve connectivity to Puducherry, Nabard has sanctioned Rs 68 crore loans for widening and strengthening of 36 rural roads and one bridge. — Our Bureau More Stories on : Credit Market | Agricultural Institutions | Tamil Nadu
