Oil from sunk ship pumped out

Kolkata: More than 900 tonnes of fuel oil, diesel oil and lube oil stored in the tanks of MV Black Rose, the ship that sank off Paradip port on September 9, has been pumped out without causing any environmental damage, according to Paradip Port Trust sources. Resolve Marine Group of Florida, US, started working on retrieval of oil on October 23 and completed it on Sunday last. The US firm was appointed through global tender after approval from the Shipping Ministry. — Our Bureau
