New Projects States - Karnataka Brigade Group offers affordable apartments

Jaishankar, Chairman and Managing Director at a press conference in Bangalore on Tuesday. — Our Bureau Bangalore, Nov.17 Real-estate developer Brigade Group has joined the affordable housing bandwagon by announcing Brigade Value Homes, offering apartments in the Rs 10-26 lakh price range. About 10,000 units would be developed across four projects in Bangalore — Devanahalli; near the Art of Living Centre on Kanakapura Road; the Krishnarajapuram-Whitefield belt; and near Kengeri on Mysore Road. A single-bedroom apartment (500-550 sq.ft) would cost between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 13 lakh, a single bedroom plus study (650-700 sq.ft) would cost the buyer between Rs 13 lakh and Rs 16 lakh, while two-bedroom (850-900 sq.ft) and three-bedroom (1,050-1,100 sq.ft) apartments have been priced Rs 17 lakh to Rs 21 lakh, and Rs 21 lakh to Rs 26 lakh, respectively. According to Mr M.R. Jaishankar, Chairman and Managing Director, Brigade Group, the registration, similar to expression of interest, would be open from November 20 to December 6. Interested buyers can register by depositing between Rs 50,000 and Rs 1 lakh (depending on the size of the apartment they require) registration fee at select Corporation Bank branches in the city. The registration fee should be deposited in a designated interest-bearing fixed deposit account, and interest accruing on the deposit will be according to the prevailing rates offered by Corporation Bank. Customers can also enjoy the pre-launch booking price and special discount of Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh offered. Mr Jaishankar said the projects would commence in six-twelve months, as “they are still in the planning stages”. Only one booking would be allowed for every customer, as “we don’t want to encourage speculation, investor market or bulk buying”.
