FCI offers 2-month grain stock

Thiruvananthapuram, Nov. 15

The Food Corporation of India (FCI) has offered rice and wheat to the State Government for retail sale as part of its efforts to check the increase in price of food grains. An official spokesman for the corporation said here that the FCI had offered 25,675 tonnes of rice and 40,660 tonnes of wheat to be sold to retail consumers all over the State during November and December. Boiled rice would be supplied at Rs 15.92 a kg for Grade A and Rs 15.48 a kg for the common variet y. Similarly, raw rice is being offered at Rs 16.5 a kg for Grade A and Rs 15.70 for common varieties. Wheat would be supplied at Rs 12.96 a kg, the spokesman added.
