Hyderabad, Nov. 13 The third edition of the Hoteltechshow and Baketechshow, a hospitality event organised by the Samanuaya Communications, was inaugurated at Gymkhana Grounds, Secunderabad on Friday.

The event targeting hospitality and bakery segment seeks to provide a platform for the hospitality industry and various service providers. The trade show seeks to expose members to new technologies, innovations and best practices.

More than 50 service providers are showcasing their products and services during the three-day exhibition that will conclude on November 15.

The third edition of the tradeshow provides an interface for the hospitality industry with equipment and service providers. Kitchen equipments, ovens, tableware, laundry machines, aluminium foil used for packing food items, food and beverage equipments were on display at the exhibition.

Trends in business

CDs containing database of hotels, food and beverages, furniture and other kitchen equipments are being offered at the tradeshow. According to the Managing Partner of Samanuaya, Mr Vinod Menon, increasing consumer awareness on quality, process and taste was helping the hotel and restaurants to focus on best practices and quality standards.

Another major trend among the restaurants was to adopt international standards and certifications. Over 4,000 representatives from the hotel, bakery and restaurants were expected to attend the tradeshow, he said.

The Indian Federation of Culinary Association is also organising its fourth national culinary conference from November 14 to 16 at Hotel Taj Krishna, Banjara Hills. Over 300 have converged here to take part in the conference.

Managing cost escalation and ensuring profits and stepping up standards is also putting pressure on the owners to adopt as well as innovate cost-saving methods such as energy efficiency and reduction of wastage.

The trade show has sections on food and beverage, housekeeping services, kitchen equipment, IT for hospitality, waste and energy management and hotel and restaurant management technologies.
