Taiwan textile fair

Bangalore, Nov. 12

Taiwan is eyeing the Indian market to export its specialty fabrics. The Taiwan Textile Federation is organising a two-day textile fair in Bangalore. On display are specialty fabrics such as anti-bacteria, anti-perspiration fabrics, protective fire resistant textiles, apart from knitted fabrics, wovens and yarn. “India mostly imports from China for the price factor. Taiwan fabrics are 5-10 per cent costlier than Chinese fabrics. But I hope Indian manufacturers and exp orters see potential in Taiwan for its high quality products,” says Ms Jennifer Lui who is heading the Taiwan Textile Federation delegation here. There are 11 companies from Taiwan participating in the textile fair, which expects to attract 300 visitors. Companies such as Arvind, Madura Garments, and Karle have already visited the exhibition, said one of the fair organisers. The Taiwanese Textile Federation had put up a similar show in the export hub of Tirupur two days ago, which attracted around 478 buyers. The federation will organise another fair in Delhi on November 16 and 17.
