Chamber plans fast

Madurai, Nov.3

The Sattur Chamber of Commerce and Industry has announced its intent to observe fast to support its demand that proposed new trains stop at Sattur. In a letter to the Union Railway Minister, Ms Mamata Banerjee, the Chamber Secretary, Mr P.T.K.A.Balasubramanian, said that while all Superfast trains stopped at Sattur, the proposed new trains, Jammu Tawi-Madurai to be extended up to Tirunelveli and Rameswaram-Kanyakumari trains are not scheduled to stop at Sattur. Statin g that Sattur is a Taluk centre with flourishing trade in chillies, matches, textiles, etc, with a number of educational institutions, he said the Chamber would observe a fast to press its demand. — Our Correspondent
