Sagar Cements net at Rs 11.2 cr

Hyderabad, Oct. 24

Sagar Cements Ltd posted Rs 11.20 crore net profit in the second quarter ended September 30 on a standalone basis. It had incurred Rs 2.90 crore loss in the year-ago period. The net profit was primarily driven by increase in cement sales. The net income from operations had more than doubled at Rs 128 crore (Rs 40 crore). The earnings per share stood at Rs 7.48 (not annualised). The plan to set up a 5.5-million tonne capacity manufacturing facility in Gulbarga, Karnataka, through a joint venture with the Vicat Group was progressing well, it said, adding that the joint venture had already invested around Rs 70 crore towards land acquisition. - Our Bureau
