Nitta Gelatin net profit up 128%

Kochi, Oct. 24

The net profit of Nitta Gelatin India Ltd has increased 128 per cent to Rs 8.27 crore for the second quarter of the current fiscal. The company, a joint venture between Nitta Gelatin Inc of Japan and the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation, manufactures gelatin, ossein, dicalcium phosphate and collagen peptide. Its EPS has more than doubled to Rs 9.84 as against Rs 4.31 during the corresponding quarter the previous year. Mr G. Suseelan, Managing Director, said: "We have been growing at a healthy pace for more than three years now. This quarter has been satisfying and we look forward to grow further." With a plant each in Kerala and Maharashtra, the company's products reach 22 countries. - Our Bureau
