‘Power electronics to play key role’

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct. 22

Power electronics is developing in leaps and bounds and is bound to play a key role in the future, according to Mr A. K. Chathopadhyaya, Emeritus Professor, Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). Inaugurating a two-day national workshop on power electronics technology organised by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC) and the National Mission on Power Electronics Technology (NaMPET) here on Thursday, Mr Chathopadhyaya said power electron ics had come of age. It may not have the visible presence or glamour of micro electronics, but it still had a role to play in today’s technology sweepstakes.
