Mumbai, Oct. 20 Etisalat DB Telecom has awarded business process outsourcing contracts worth Rs 750 crore to Tech Mahindra, Aegis and Conflux Solutions in a bid to accelerate the rollout of its mobile telephony services in India.

While Tech Mahindra will manage Etisalat DB’s services in the North and South, Aegis and Conflux will handle services in West/Central India and Bihar.

The three vendors will set up contact centres to provide customer management services such as billing, collections, customer service and retention.

These centres will also be responsible for management of back office processes, Etisalat said in a press release.

“It (the contact centre) is completely built and operated by the vendors according to our agreement. The multi-site centres will be situated within the premises of the vendor,” an Etisalat spokesperson told Business Line.

Etisalat DB, a 55:45 joint venture between the Dynamix Balwas Group and Etisalat of West Asia, has licences to provide mobile services in 15 of India’s 22 telecom zones, but is yet to start services.

While Tech Mahindra and Aegis are established players in the BPO space, Conflux is relatively lesser known. It offers back-office services to telecom operators such as Airtel, Idea and Aircel in eastern India, especially Bihar.
