Chennai, Oct. 19 Insights are the facts related to the brand that are obvious. “It will be right in front of you, but you fail to see them and when you do see, you wonder how come you never saw them before. These insights are worth their weight in gold,” said Mr Ramanujam Sridhar, Chief Executive Officer, brand-comm.

One-day seminar

Inaugurating the one-day national-level seminar on Brand management and advertising for future managers – Bramma-09, held at the School of Management, Sastra University at Thanjavur, in association with brand-comm as knowledge partner, he validated this ‘insights’ theory with a varied set of examples such as “I am retired, I love my children, I will live with them, but I will be economically independent.” - an insight which led to the success of the HDFC campaign.

He took the management students through the cornerstones of branding with his humour to conclude with a caselet on Tanishq – A new tale of tradition, leaving behind a question to linger in the students’ minds, “Were they open to seeing things differently?”

Mr R.V. Rajan, Managing Director of Anugraha Madison, Chennai, spoke on “Branding in the rural Indian context”. Mr Guruvayoorappan, Assistant Vice-President - HR of Omega Health Care, Bangalore, spoke on “Internal branding for organisations”.

Prof. S. Anandapadbanaban, Dean, School of Civil, Sastra University, delivered the valedictory address and issued certificates to the participants.

Dr V. Badrinath, Dean , School of Management, presided over the function.
