NMDC donates Rs 5 cr for flood relief

Hyderabad Oct. 18

National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) has donated Rs 5 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to help the flood affected people of Andhra Pradesh. Mr Rana Som, Chairman and Managing Director, NMDC handed over the cheque to the Chief Minister, Mr K. Rosaiah, in the presence of Mr A. Sai Prathap, the Union Minister of State for Steel. The CSR policy of the country’s largest iron ore producer provides adequate fund provisions in its budget. In the cur rent fiscal, NMDC has partnered with the State branch of Indian Red Cross Society for establishment of a multidisciplinary Hospital in Hyderabad apart from providing financial assistance to various social organisations.
