Bharti AXA ties up with AP Govt for insurance scheme

Hyderabad, Oct. 13 Bharti AXA General Insurance Company Ltd on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding with the Andhra Pradesh Government for the implementation of Apathbandhu scheme covering all the BPL (Below the Poverty Line) families in Andhra Pradesh against accidental death.

The Apathbandhu Scheme was launched by the Government in 1998.

The insurance coverage is provided for the adults in the age group of 18 to 69 years and the ex-gratia payable in each case is Rs 50,000 for each person.

Commenting on the tie-up, Dr Amarnath Ananthanarayanan, the Chief Executive Officer, Bharti AXA General Insurance, said, “We believe this is a great opportunity to provide insurance solutions to rural and semi urban areas and as always, will aim at providing the best services and solutions to our customers”.

The scheme will be implemented across the State by 23 District Collectors.

These District Collectors, in coordination with the company, will manage the claim settlement process for the beneficiaries of the scheme.

Bharti AXA already has presence in 40 branches across the country and plans to open 70 branches in key locations before the end of the year.
