Polling peaceful in Maharashtra

Mumbai, Oct. 13 Barring some incidents of violence in the Naxal-hit Gadchiroli district, voting for the Assembly elections across Maharashtra was peaceful on Tuesday. The voter turnout was about 62 per cent across the State and 50 per cent in Mumbai. Voting picked up pace by mid morning and at 1 p.m. about 36 per cent of the voters had exercised their franchise.
