The proposed increase in head count is part of the company's medium term plan to ramp-up its Indian operations, backed by Adidas management. The company has lined up an expansion programme that includes setting up of a development centre, an uppers stitching factory, a mould shop and a new footwear factory dedicated to the domestic tariff area. Mr Andy Koehler, the Global Sourcing Head of Adidas, visited the Nellore factory last week, promising to provide full support to the Indian operations. - Our Bureau
