Minister lauds Kudumbasree

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct. 9

The Kudumbasree poverty eradication mission has been told to bring its activities to the forefront of society to accommodate suggestions and criticisms from various quarters. “No other organisation in Kerala has been able to empower women as Kudumbasree did,” the Minister for Local Self-Government, said here while releasing a newsletter of the Kudumbasree Mission. Not only has Kudumbasree made fruitful interventions in various sectors, but the 37 lakh-member-st rong organisation has also ensured a fully democratic setup and functioning, he said. Kudumbasree has been able to make a mark in almost all sectors related to women’s empowerment. It had strengthened its activities in the field of agriculture and small-scale enterprises during the last year.
