Our Bureau

New Delhi, Oct. 6 In a continuation of its association with cricket, Idea Cellular announced on Tuesday that it has entered into a one- year sponsorship deal with GMR Industries to become the principal sponsor of GMR’s Indian Premier League franchise, Delhi Daredevils. Starting with the forthcoming Champions League Twenty20 tournament, the deal will extend to the third season of the Indian Premier League Season 3 to be played next year.

Speaking on the initiative, Mr Atul Chaturvedi, Chief Operating Officer – Delhi and Haryana, Idea Cellular Ltd said, “Delhi is a strategic market for Idea. The association with the Delhi Daredevils will provide a strong connect between the brand and the customers of Delhi.”

Idea will also launch a range of value-added services for its Delhi customers to bring them closer to the Delhi Daredevils team members. Idea customers will stand a chance to win free tickets to T20 matches of the Delhi Daredevils as well. The new deal builds on Idea’s association with cricket. The brand already sponsors Mukesh Ambani owned franchise, Mumbai Indians.
