Narayana Murthy steps down from NDTV board

New Delhi, Sept. 24 The Chief Mentor and Chairman of Infosys Technologies, Mr N.R. Narayana Murthy, has stepped down from the board of New Delhi Television. He is said to have expressed his inability to continue in the role given his many other responsibilities. The company shared the information in a statement to the stock exchange today.

“In view of increasing pressure on his time and due to his commitments within and outside of Infosys, Mr N.R. Narayana Murthy has expressed his inability to continue as a Director on the Board of Directors of the company with immediate effect,” said the statement to the exchange. Mr Murthy will act as mentor to the media company.

Mr Murthy serves as an independent director on the boards of several global companies, including Unilever NV, Unilever Plc and HSBC Holdings Plc.
