Nominations begin for Guruvar award

Kochi, Sept. 21 As part of a national campaign to honour outstanding teachers across the country, nominations for ‘Guruvar Awards’ opened on Monday.

The nominations on the Web site www.guruvar.com will be open till October 19. People can nominate a teacher who has contributed significantly in their development and has had an impact on their lives.

To nominate, visit www.guruvar.com and fill in a brief nomination form with a 200-word write-up on the teacher.

While self-nominations are not allowed, nominations are open to all schools located in the country. Teachers from primary to high schools can be nominated.

The categories under which entries are invited are ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’, ‘Outstanding Indian Teacher’, ‘Outstanding Young Indian Teacher’ and ‘Outstanding Indian Teacher of Children with Special Needs’.

The total prize money is Rs 2 crore.
