Our Bureau New Delhi, Sept. 14 The special auditors examining the account books of Bharti Airtel have informed the Department of Telecom that they were awaiting more data from the company before they could submit their report. “We started the audit of Bharti Airtel on August 10 and we are submitting the progress of the audit till August 31. We had requested them to give us access to their systems which they have still to consider. In lieu of this, we have asked them to give us the detailed process flow for billing and accounting which is also still to be received,” said a letter from Contractor, Nayak & Kishnadwala. When contacted, an Airtel spokesperson said, “The Government has asked for a monthly progress report from all the special auditors; this communication to the DoT is a routine progress update.
