BCIL’s housing project bags LEED platinum rating

Our Bureau

Bangalore, Sept. 8 The Bangalore-based green building technology company and developer of eco-friendly homes Biodiversity Conservation India Ltd (BCIL) has received a LEED Platinum rating for its residential apartment project, BCIL TZed Homes.

The platinum rating indicates that the resident gets innovative features that not only help the building achieve significant energy savings, but also protect indoor air quality and increase the quality of life for the resident.

Mr Chandrashekar Hariharan, Chief Executive Officer of BCIL, said, “Earning a LEED Platinum without investing in wind turbines, solar panels or similar renewable energy products is difficult.

“However, BCIL TZed Homes has used a variety of eco-friendly products and design measures to ensure that the residential apartment block reached the highest level in the LEED rating system.”

TZed is a 2.49-lakh sq. ft project, set on 5.5 acres, designed to achieve a near-zero carbon footprint.
