Mir acquires resort at Munnar

Kochi, Sept. 8 Mir Hotels and Resorts, the hospitality vertical of the diversified Mir Group, has added one more resort to its growing property chain.

The new resort acquired by Mir Hotels and Resorts in Munnar, which is the fourth property of the group in Kerala, features 21 cottages.

The other properties managed by the company in the State are Kayaloram Heritage Lake Resort at Alappuzha, Krishnatheeram Ayur Holy Beach Resort at Varkala and Park Central Hotel at Kochi.

Mir Hotels and Resorts is also planning to construct a four-star business hotel in Thiruvananthapuram at an investment of Rs 40 crore. The construction will commence in January next year, Mr Nishad Menon, Head, Mir Hospitality, said.

Apart from this, the company has also signed the MoU for constructing and operating a four-star business hotel at Jubail, Saudi Arabia, along with a private equity investment group from that country.

The other destinations where the company plans to set up resorts are Waynad, Thekkady and Kodaikkanal. The company proposes to have properties all over South India through purchases, constructions or long-term leases, he added.
