Insurance agents resent plan to scrap commission

Our Bureau

Hyderabad, Sept. 8 The Life Insurance Agents Federation of India has taken exception to the idea of scrapping agent’s commission by 2011 as recommended by a committee on investor protection financial literacy.

“The panel, headed by Mr D.S. Swaroop, recommended in its draft report that the agent’s commission on life insurance and unit-linked insurance products to be scrapped. This is totally uncalled for,” Mr S.B. Sreenivasa Chary, President, LIAFI, told newspersons here on Tuesday.
