Hyderabad, Sept. 8 Mr B. Ramalinga Raju, the former Chairman of Satyam Computer Services, is recovering from a heart attack he suffered on Monday night. He has been admitted to the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS). Mr Raju, who is serving judicial remand at Chenchalguda Jail here for the last few months, was admitted to the intensive care unit at NIMS and underwent several tests to assess the problem. “His condition is stable,” Mr N. Satyanarayana, Medical Super intendent of NIMS, told reporters. Mr Bharat Kumar, counsel for Mr Raju, said his client had been suffering from hepatitis-C. “Various hospitals, including NIMS and Asian Institute of Gastroenterology, have identified the problem and recommended a 48-week treatment schedule,” he said. Even before the doctors began treatment, Mr Raju complained of chest pain on Monday and was shifted to NIMS by the jail officials. – Our Bureau More Stories on : People | Corporate Governance | Health | Satyam Computer Services Ltd
