Our Bureau Mumbai, Aug 22 Jet Airways said on Saturday it has “not received any official intimation from any pilot or group of pilots” about a likely strike on September 7. The newly registered Jet Airways pilots’ union, National Aviators’ Guild (NAG) decided on Friday that it would send a strike notice to the management on Monday. The pilots are demanding the reinstatement of two senior pilots sacked earlier this month. The two sacked pilots were instrumental in forming the NAG. ‘CONTRARY TO LAW’“We understand from enquiries being made by the media that some pilots/group of pilots has suggested resorting to measures that may cause inconvenience to the travelling public. Jet Airways is a scheduled airline and any disruption of flights would not only be contrary to the law but also opposed to public interest,” said a Jet Airways spokesperson. “In any event, Jet Airways has sufficient contingency arrangements to ensure that its passengers are not inconvenienced by any irresponsible actions of some pilots,” she added.
