Pvt hospitals begin to treat swine flu cases

Hyderabad, Aug. 20 Apollo Hospitals, which is among the five private hospitals identified to admit A (H1N1) influenza patients, has begun screening on Thursday.

The hospital screened seven people with flu symptoms. “None of them was found to be infected by swine flu. In case of suspects, we will send the samples to Institute of Preventive Medicine (IPM) in the city for tests,” an Apollo spokesperson said.

The hospital group set up a six-bed isolation centre within the Apollo Health City but away from the main building.

Global Hospitals too allocated as many beds at its AWARE-Global hospital on the city outskirts.
