Bangalore, Aug. 18 A better branding opportunity is what realty company Mantri Developers feels the association with the Karnataka Premier League (KPL) would bring in.

The real estate developer has won the bid for title sponsorship of the KPL; the tournament would now be known as Mantri KPL.

“Title sponsorship would give us better branding opportunity, and that’s why we never participated in the team-franchise bids,” said Mr Sushil Mantri, Chairman and Managing Director, Mantri Developers.

5-year deal

The company has won the title sponsorship bid for Rs 11.11 crore for five years.

“We would shortly come out with a logo and submit it for the approval of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA),” he added.

Mr Brijesh Patel, Secretary, KSCA, said that the broadcasting rights for the tournament, which starts September 9, has been awarded to Udaya TV. In all, there would be 31 matches, with six matches scheduled to be played at Mysore.
