Events States - Kerala `TechTop' contest at Technopark Thiruvananthapuram Aug. 17 The fourth edition of `TechTop 2009,' an all-India competition for projects submitted by engineering students, commenced here on Monday. Mr Somenath Ghosh, Chairman and Managing Director of the National Research Development Corporation (NRDC), inaugurated the exhibition at Technopark. In his inaugural speech, Mr Ghosh said that the NRDC has been promoting innovation for the past 50 years and helping conversion of resource to product. This was the time to accelerate translation of ideas to products by encouraging young minds. They need to be aware of the many schemes the Centre has announced to support aspiring entrepreneurs to fulfil their dreams. The `TechTop 2009' award ceremony will take place at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, an official spokesman said. - Our Bureau
