Restructuring Patni Computer rejigs businesses with eye on Asia-Pacific Our Bureau Mumbai, Aug. 11 Patni Computer Systems has strengthened its senior management team and restructured business into four key geographies. It has appointed Mr Naresh Lakhanpal as President for Patni Americas Inc. Before joining Patni, Mr Lakhanpal worked with Deloitte & Touche as Global Practice Director, Technology, Media & Telecommunications Practice. Patni’s regional business will now be structured into four key geographies – the US, EMEA, APAC and SAARC. Patni has divided the Asia-Pacific region into APAC and SAARC. Its APAC operations will be headquartered in Singapore and the SAARC operations will be based out of India. The company has appointed Mr V. Mathivanan as President, APAC. Mr Mathivanan had served as Managing Director of Singapore Network Services and transformed the Singapore-based EDI company into CrimsonLogic, a global IT solutions and services provider. Mr Deepak Khosla, who was Head of APAC, will now lead the SAARC region. Patni is bullish about its India growth and plans to strengthen its India presence with a focus on telecom, insurance, manufacturing and e-governance, according to a press release. Asia-Pacific is expected to contribute 15 per cent of Patni’s revenues by 2012, the company said. The Patni stock was down by 2.03 per cent to Rs 372.25 on the Bombay Stock Exchange on Tuesday.
