Money Gram, Thomas Cook plan road show

Kochi, Aug. 7 Money Gram International, global money transfer company, and Thomas Cook India Ltd are organising a 30-day road show called Onam 2009 in Kerala.

The road show is aimed at spreading awareness among people about receiving money from the US, Canada, UK, Greece and the UAE in a convenient and reliable manner. This road show would give Kerala consumers a chance to experience the brand Money Gram, Mr Ganesh Kumar V, Senior Manager, Foreign Exchange, Thomas Cook, said at a press meet.

The road shows held in last two years had helped grow Money Gram in Kerala, he said. In 2009, the road show will cover 247 cities in 14 districts and will end a day before Onam.

The services are provided by a sub-agent network comprising South Indian Bank, Muthoot Finance Ltd and Manappuram General Finance and Leasing Ltd and through Thomas Cook offices.

The company has also introduced U Special Student programmefor students traveling abroad for higher studies. Under this scheme, Thomas Cook would offer all travel-related services such as forex in foreign currency, demand draft, wiring money to universities, travellers cheques, prepaid cards, travel insurance, air tickets with extra baggage and special fares etc, he added.

Mr Mahesh Iyer, Associate Vice-President, Foreign Exchange, Thomas Cook, said that through this road show, the company would like to spread the message of safe money transfers via the tie-up with Money Gram.
