Workshop on IFRS

Coimbatore, Aug. 5

Advisory Services and Prime Academy, Chennai, plans to organise a four-day workshop on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) on August 7 and 8 and the following weekend – August 15 and 16 at the Damodar Centre on Avinashi Road here. The effort is aimed at familiarising the participants to the IFRS standard, interpretation and framework adopted by the International Accounting Standards Board. Mr B.R. Bhansali of Ishita Advisory Services pointed out that with the impending introduction of IFRS from April 1, 2011, it would become imperative for all stakeholders, especially those involved with preparation, presentation and interpretation of financial statements to be knowledgeable about these standards. The workshop has been designed to take the delegates through the basics of IFRS, methodologies adopted and the rationale with case studies for better clarity and confidence, he said. —
