Andhra Cements revenues up

Hyderabad, July 27

Andhra Cements Ltd’s net profit remained nearly flat at Rs 17.13 crore in the first quarter ended June 30, 2009 compared with Rs 17 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. The total revenue of the company, however, increased at Rs 107 crore (Rs 89 crore). The profitability of the company was adversely impacted by the increase in expenditure, driven by higher expenses in raw material, fuel and freight charges. The earnings per share stood at Rs 1.29 (Rs 1.35). The company, which is operating under a rehabilitation package of Board for Industrial and Financial Reconstruction, is currently implementing an expansion project to increase its capacity from current 1.4 million tonnes per annum to 3.5 million tonnes, it informed the BSE.
