Cloud computing reins in costs, says Netmagic

L.N. Revathy

Coimbatore, July 24 The founder and Chief Executive of Netmagic Solutions, Mr Sharad Sanghi, describes the company’s move into cloud computing as “a natural evolution of its business and the one that transformed the way the company did business in terms of service delivery.”

“The worldwide cloud services revenue is set to cross $56.3 billion in 2009, up 21.3 per cent from its 2008 revenue ,” he said, citing a Gartner report.

Netmagic would, through its suite of offerings, enable Indian enterprises carry out their operations economically even during the downturn, according to Mr Sanghi.

Netmagic offers three services — CloudNet, CloudServe and PrivateCloud.

“Companies will would be able to cut costs by at least 20-25 per cent and be ready for scaling on demand when the economy starts growing by using the cloud platform,” Mr Sanghi said.

Some concerns too

While the adoption levels have been encouraging, he admitted that enterprises expressed certain security and there were challenges with regard to regulatory compliance.
