Co-operatives States - Kerala NCDC outlay at Rs 3,300 cr
Our Bureau Thiruvananthapuram, July 23 The National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) has fixed a financial outlay of Rs 3,300 crore for various activities in 2009-10. The programmes for weaker sections, which include fisheries, dairy, poultry, handlooms and SC/ST cooperatives, will get an outlay of Rs 237 crore, which works out to 7 per cent of the total outlay for the current year. The financial back-up for marketing and input programmes has been kept at Rs 1,025 crore (31 per cent of the total outlay), while the agro processing cooperatives will get Rs 1,000 crore (31 per cent), according to a statement from NCDC. The outlay for industrial, credit and service cooperatives in the current year is Rs 835 crore (25 per cent) and that for Integrated Cooperative Development Projects (ICDP) is Rs 165 crore (5 per cent). The storage and consumer cooperatives, computerisation of cooperative societies and the promotional activities of NCDC will account for the balance 2 per cent of the total outlay. In 2008-09, the corporation released an amount of Rs 3,586.91 crore for various activities, which worked out to an achievement of 119.56 per cent against the stipulated target of Rs 3,000 crore for the year. The net NPA of the corporation was reduced to 0.006 per cent of the outstanding loans and recovery was to the tune of 99.7 per cent. For the Eleventh Plan period, NCDC is targeting a total outlay of Rs 19,640 crore for various cooperative development programmes in the country. More Stories on : Co-operatives | Kerala
