DCM Shriram Q1 net at Rs 21 cr

DCM Shriram Consolidated Ltd (DSCL) reported a profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 21.24 crore for the three months ended June 30. This is almost four and half times the Rs 4.87 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.

The period under review saw a 12.5 per cent increase in net sales (from Rs 797.59 crore to Rs 897.56 crore).

According to a company release, the higher sales registered in the quarter was mainly led by sugar (91.9 per cent increase, from Rs 106.1 crore to Rs 203.7 crore), agri-inputs (up 43.5 per cent, from Rs 107.3 crore to Rs 153.9 crore) and the retail Hariyali Kisan Bazaar business (up 24.9 per cent, from Rs 87 crore to Rs 108.7 crore).

The company’s revenues from chloro-vinyl business fell by 8 per cent to Rs 210 crore.
