New Delhi, July 15

Genpact CEO and Nasscom Chairman, Mr Pramod Bhasin, said on Wednesday that based on the current indicators, the IT and BPO industry may show 0-5 per cent growth during FY10.

“This is my personal opinion but based on the industry results so far, the current trends as well as analyst views, I think that the growth for the industry for FY10 might come in at 0-5 per cent. If the later quarters revive then it will be different, but I am not sure why they will,” Mr Bhasin pointed out.

The IT and BPO exports growth is expected at 16-17 per cent in FY09 at $47 billion. The Indian IT and BPO industry exports had clocked $40.4 billion revenue in FY08.

Asked if the industry had achieved the projections for FY09, Mr Bhasin said, “I think the FY09 numbers are pretty good.”
