Our Bureau

Bangalore July 13 Business Software Alliance (BSA), the world trade body representing commercial software industry, said that 65 small and medium IT and ITES firms in Karnataka have completed the Software Asset Management Leadership Programme.

BSA is aiming to educate and engage businesses in Karnataka on the importance of using genuine software as a valuable IT asset as part of the programme.

Implementing Software Asset Management practice helps companies to maximise the value of their software licenses, besides promoting increased productivity with optimal procurement resulting in greater employee satisfaction and uptime.

It also ensures effective security with less vulnerable environment for IT systems and minimised legal and financial risks, BSA said.

About 45 companies that completed the assessment were awarded the BSA certificate by the Karnataka Government’s Centre of e-Governance as part of the programme.

BSA had launched the SAM Leadership programme in November 2008 and has reached out to some 700 SMEs in the State.
