Tea Info-Tech - E-Commerce & E-Business Tea auction at Kochi to be fully electronic C. J. Punnathara Kochi July 11 Subsequent to the Kerala High Court ruling, the Tea Board has communicated to the Kochi Tea Traders Association that electronic auction should be totally implemented from the next tea auction. The Sale no 29, which is scheduled for next Tuesday, would be implemented through 100 per cent e-auction (for both dust and leaf), Mr Anil Kumar Prabhu, Committee member of the Kochi Tea Traders Association, said. The High Court had ordered that the Kochi Tea Auction should go electronic, once glitches in the auction platform and software were removed. Glitches addressedThe Tea Board had pointed out that several of the glitches had already been addressed. The directive for 100 per cent e auction from the Tea Board was received by the Kochi Tea Traders Association on Saturday morning. The tea traders and buyers were a relieved lot since the court had instructed that several of the glitches had to be addressed before 100 per cent e-auction was launched. How far the glitches have been addressed and rectified would be known only at Tuesday’s auction. If the shortcomings were not rectified as was directed by the court, they said that they have the option of legal remedy once again. More Stories on : Tea | E-Commerce & E-Business
