Alloy Steel Plant’s social initiative

Kolkata, June 20

Under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) scheme, Alloy Steels Plant, Durgapur, launched on Friday a social development programme at Chapadanga, a tribal village located about 15 km from Durgapur. Under the programme, 50 low-cost sanitary units, 56 smokeless chullas and 10 solar street-lights have been installed in the village in addition to creating employment through sal leaf thala project and pond renovation schemes, according to a press release issued by ASP. Mr Amarjit Vijh, Executive Director, ASP, inaugurated the project in the presence of a large number of villagers, NGOs and social activists and several senior company officials, the press release adds. —
