Sagar Cements Q4 net rises


Hyderabad, June 17

Sagar Cements Ltd’s net profit increased to Rs 6.86 crore (Rs 5 crore) in the fourth-quarter ended March 31, 2009. The total income increased 80 per cent to Rs 126 crore (Rs 70 crore). The profitability of the Hyderabad-based company was impacted by significant increase in the expenditure driven by the power and fuel costs and other expenditure. For the full year, net profit decreased 46 per cent at Rs 16.45 crore (Rs 31 crore) while the total income had increased to Rs 306 crore (Rs 253 crore). The earnings per share stood at Rs 11.48 (Rs 23.70). The board of directors has recommended dividend at Rs 2.50 a share on the equity shares of Rs 10 each for declaration at the ensuing annual general meeting, the date of which would be finalised in due course, it informed the BSE. —
