Addl charge for Ashok Chawla

K.R. Srivats

New Delhi, June 12 The Government has given the additional charge of Department of Disinvestment to the Finance Secretary, Mr Ashok Chawla. The Secretary-level post in the Department of Disinvestment fell vacant recently after the erstwhile Disinvestment Secretary, Mr Rahul Khullar, moved over to the Commerce Ministry as Commerce Secretary.

The move to give additional charge to Mr Chawla comes at a time when expectations are high that the Finance Minister, Mr Pranab Mukherjee would, in the upcoming Budget, spell out a roadmap for disinvestment of Government holding in public sector companies.
